Romans, Alamanni and the first Christians – new archaeological finds from Böhringen and Markelfingen
On the occasion of the exhibition in the Radolfzell town museum “Village life – history(ies) from the Radolfzell districts”, district archaeologist Dr. Jürgen Hald presents the results of the latest archaeological investigation of an Alamannic burial ground in Böhringen. It will also take a look at the cult site discovered a few years ago in the Markelfingen building area “Im Tal”. The ruins of a Roman estate were already being practiced there during the 6th-8th centuries. n. AD, early Christians practised their religion and deposited small metal crosses in pits, while their neighbors in Böhringen still buried their dead according to pagan custom.
