Radios of the 30s and 40s

2. October – 2. November

Radios of the 30s and 40s

Radios from the 1930s and 1940s in the City Museum

From Thursday, October 2, 2025, to Sunday, November 2, 2025, the cabinet exhibition “Radios of the 1930s and 1940s” can be seen in the City Museum. The National Socialists used the modern mass medium of radio for their propaganda. According to Joseph Goebbels, the National Socialist revolution would not have been possible without radio. The Volksempfänger was presented at the radio exhibition in the summer of 1933. Half as expensive as conventional radios, the preferred organ of Nazi propaganda was soon in many households. In cooperation with the Compurama-Radolfzell e.V. association, the Radolfzell City Museum is exhibiting radio sets from the 1930s and 1940s.
