Time walk through the history of Liggeringen

On the occasion of the exhibition in the Radolfzell town museum “Village life – history(ies) from the Radolfzell districts”, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Klöckler provides insights into the settlement history on a tour of Liggeringen. He spans the arc from the Alemannic foundation in the 4th century to the lighthouse project of the town of Radolfzell as a solar energy village. The guided tour of the village starts at 11.00 am in the Torkel, built in 1756/57. Anyone who once owned vines in the area around Liggeringen had to have them pressed in the Bodman family’s stately wine press. The long coexistence of the knightly St. George’s Church in the village center and the popular parish church of St. Verena in the upper village gives us a glimpse into the everyday life of earlier social structures. The Wirtschaft zum Kranz is an example of the importance of the inn at the center of village life.
